In 2019, last season the races were canceled due to adverse weather conditions (heavy snowfalls), Sofia Goggia returned in St. Moritz to her winning ways with a Super-G victory. Goggia was characteristically aggressive and risky, and the style paid off massively. She bested her teammate Federica Brignone by merely 0.01 seconds. Mikaela Shiffrin joined the Italian duo to complete the podium (+0.13 s.). In a tight race, the top 10 racers were all within one second of each other, and there was a three-way tie for sixth with Nina Ortlieb (AUT), Corinne Suter (SUI), and Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR).

On Sunday Sofia Goggia won her fourth World Cup race in the Super-G. Goggia beat Lara Gut-Behrami by 0.11 seconds. Mirjam Puchner, starting with bibe number 29, finished in third place +0.44.

The latest woman to win more than three speed races in a row was Lindsey Vonn in the 2012-2013 season. She recorded a winning run of 4 victories (3 wins in Lake Louise, one in St. Moritz).

Goggia and Federica Brignone are level with Karen Putzer (all 4) for most World Cup super-G wins among Italian women.

Brignone is level with Deborah Compagnoni (both 16) for most World Cup wins among Italian women (all disciplines). Isolde Kostner (15) and Sofia Goggia (14) follow in third and fourth place.

Lara Gut-Behrami first World Cup career win came in the Super-G in St. Moritz on 20 December 2008. She finished in second place in St. Moritz on two occasions (2016 and 2018).

Gut-Behrami's with 16 super-G wins in the World Cup, is level with Katja Seizinger (both 16) in third place on the women's list for most World Cup victories in the Super-G, behind Lindsey Vonn (28) and Renate Götschl (17).
