By Air

Flying to either Münich  (285 km) or Zürich (277 km) airports is the most convenient.

Another good option is to fly to Innsbruck (85 km) via Frankfurt.

By Train/Bus

Trains of Austria's OBB or Germany's DB railway companies take you safely to the train station in Ötztal Bahnhof.

 

Direct connections (SBB) between Zürich and Ötztal are also available.

 

From Ötztal the public bus lines to Sölden (direction Obergurgl) leave directly in front of the train station. Bus rides to Sölden take about 1 – 1.5 hours..

 

Local taxi companies are at your disposal if you need a speedy transfer to the nearby airports or train stations.

From Innsbruck regular connections by train (OBB) or Bus are available.

 

 

By Car

From Switzerland: Vorarlberg - Tirol via Arlberg Pass or through Arlberg Tunnel (S 16 Federal Road) - direction Landeck - change to A 12 Autobahn - exit: Ötztal - B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden.


From the North:


- Bad Tölz - Achen Pass - B 181 Federal Road - Jenbach - A 12 Autobahn towards Innsbruck (direction Bregenz) - exit: Ötztal - B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden

- Pfronten - Reutte - Fernpass - Imst - A 12 Autobahn (direction Innsbruck) - exit: Ötztal (past Roppen Tunnel) or B 171 Federal Road to Ötztal (no Vignette toll-sticker required!) - B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden

- GarmischPartenkirchen - Ehrwald - Lermoos - Fernpass - Imst - A 12 Autobahn (direction Innsbruck) – exit: Ötztal (past Roppen Tunnel) or B 171 Federal Road to Ötztal (no Vignette toll-sticker required!) - B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden

Munich or Salzburg - A 93 Autobahn to Kufstein - A 12 Autobahn (direction Bregenz) via Innsbruck – exit: Ötztal - B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden

From the South:


From Bozen/Bolzano towards Brenner Pass (toll road) – Schönberg toll station (direction Innsbruck) - A 12 Autobahn towards Bregenz – exit: Ötztal - B 186 Federal Road (35 km) to Sölden

 

 

The use of the Vignette (Toll Sticker) is mandatory in Austria. 1-year, 2-month and 10-day vignettes are available. The vignette should be clearlyvisible on the inside of thewindscreen (we recommend the topleft corner or close to the rear viewmirror).You can buy it in Around 6,000 sales outlets (petrolstations, newsstands, motoringassociations and ASFINAG tollsites) which clearly displaythe vignette symbol.

 

In Austria like in many other European countries the use of winter tyres is mandatory from November to April.
