Austria is the leading country for October skiing with the Hintertux, Pitztal, Sölden, and the Kaunertal glaciers in Tirol already open.
In Stubai, the start of the new ski season is planned for next Friday, October 8th. The opening in Kaprun's Kitzsteinhorn it's planned for next Saturday, October 9th.
In Switzerland, Saas-Fee, Zermatt has their glaciers open for skiing. From Saturday, October 9, the glacier slopes on Mount Titlis Engelberg will be open daily.
In Italy, glacier ski areas Val Senales and Passo Stelvio are open. Cervinia will be open on Saturday 6th October.
In France Les 2 Alpes area will be open from Saturday 23rd October to Sunday 7th November 2021.
Tignes also plans to open the fall skiing season on the Grande Motte glacier on October 16th.
