Petra Vlhova Claims Victory at Her Second Show in Levi

Petra Vlhova took today in Levi her 22nd World Cup victory and 14th in slalom with a 0.47 second lead over Mikaela Shiffrin. The Slovak overall World Cup winner confirms she is now number one in Slalom with another flawless performance.

Vlhova won again with the two fastest times in both runs and became the most successful skier ever on this slope with her fifth triumph on the "Levi Black".

The second run was really tough, the course setting was really difficult. I also had a few problems, but I already saw during the tour that I have to ski cleverly and with my head. It wasn't that easy, but I made it and I'm very happy”, said Vlhova.

"I want to say thanks to my coach, to my team, to my family, because without them I am maybe not sitting here. I don't know... I'm really happy", added Vlhova.

Mikaela Shiffrin and Lena Duerr completed the podium as they did on Saturday. Duerr with the second-best run time and 0.78 seconds behind Vlhova, made it from sixth place to the podium and celebrated her second podium in the World Cup in Slalom.

The American ski star made a huge mistake in the steep section of the course and despite an amazing recovery, which pulled her ahead of the rest of the field, her run was not enough to outperform Vlhova.

Wendy Holdener finished in fourth place. Yesterday she ended in a strong 7th place after a six-week break due to fractures in both hands. Today, thanks to the third-best time in the second run, Holdener was 0.21 seconds short for a podium. Teammate Michelle Gisin finished in fifth place.

Petra Vlhova and Mikaela Shiffrin are now level on 260 points at the top of the overall World Cup standings with Slovenia's Andreja Slokar 76 points behind in third place.
